How to hop up in the role play in our guild?

RoM is not WoW.
Our role play is quality over quantity and that places certain "requirements" to new players.

Don't get too scared yet.

What we try to tell here is that our guild does not have a certain storyline, but the characters create the stories with interaction.

Be active and open
All people in the guild are role players so asking for a session is not frowned upon at all. It is more like expected.

It helps, if your character has a motivation beforehand
Of course, sometimes the story and characters nature gets revealed after the first session so don't get too panicked about this.

Be your own game master
Although we do have stories ongoing all the time, big stories even, it may not be so easy to jump in the story just like that. It is possible, but if it somehow feels strange, make your own start for the story where you need other people and ask them to join. Beginning only. Don't make the whole story and think others adjust in the story. Your story needs to adjust to characters and their actions. You have to be prepared that the course of your story might change totally of what you thought it to be.



I have noticed that best part is if you start a own story at first and then get to the bigger schemes. Of course mostly it is only one new member at a time, but it makes things easier to start with one other character and get a story between them to roll. So be active and plan things beforehand, if possible :)

I think what Andra means, is that in WoW you may have random encounters, in RoM you don't. There are so little rp'ers so to get them together to play needs a little planning usually. Out of character planning is welcomed and the guild channel is a good way for that. You may also plan (some beginnings) with another player in whisper and surprise other players with it together.

Ask ideas from older members. You could play Iarnas long-lost brother or Meines illegimate child or, with a cuckoo twist, both. If this agrees with the other player, it is easier to join the storyline. Or you can ask what kind of services other characters needs. For example Andraliel might be goinging crazy and there is need for exorcist and you could be that person. You can also send an in character message to one of the other chars and say you are in trouble and need rescue. You can also ask IC help to do ingame things, if you wish.

Don't be scared if the characters are rude to you. There are lots of chars that hate different kind of people for some reasons. We have racists, sexists, elitist and what not in our stories, so it's just good rp if you feel unwelcomed from those scenes.

We mostly do drama rp, so it is important how your char is alike. One whole scene can be just clashing of two different chars minds.

So ask, and you shall recieve. Play and whole guild plays with you.
